Bootie Bag
How cute is this?
I love to upcycle clothing.
This "bootie bag" purse is made from an
adorable denim skirt.
I lined the inside of the purse with a
section of micro-fleece p.j. pants.
I cut up a shirt for the straps.
I cut it into strips and braided them.
I also cut off the buttoned section of the
shirt and sewed it in with the lining.
Now the bag can be buttoned up so
belongings will not fall out.

Upcycled T-Shirts: Fashion Scarves
Do It Yourself! (So much fun!)
Circular Neck Scarf:
Cut 1-2 inch strips across the entire width of the t-shirt,
front and back together in a continuous strip.
I cut about 5 of these strips for each scarf.
Since the strips are circular in shape already,
(from going around the t-shirt)
you are nearly finished.
Just pull on the strips to stretch them.
For most t-shirts, this will curl the edges in.
Sew or tie the strips together, add a fabric flower,
and you are finished.
Long Ruffled Scarf:
Cut circle shapes from your t-shirt.
These can be about the size of a plate,
and varying sizes will create varying lengths of ruffles.
Cut your circles into 1-2 inch spirals.
Pull on the fabric to stretch it.
Tie or sew the pieces together and you have
a fabulous fashion scarf.
This is a quick and easy project,
and a great way to upcycle old t-shirts.
Seriously, I made most of the pictured scarves
during a football game.
So when I say quick and easy, I mean it!

DIY: Flower Crafts
I have been busy making hundreds of rosettes out of ribbon and
t-shirts. What fun! I am adding them as embellishments to other crafts: handmade cards, t-shirt necklaces, purses, pins, barrettes, headbands, gift tags, and for use as package toppers.
Easy to make!
You can make these yourself!
Just take a strip of fabric or ribbon, at least 12 inches long, and at least one inch wide. Really, this can be done with any size scraps, which will make the finished rosette sizes vary. Fold the strip width in half and begin to roll lengthwise. After a couple of rolls, twist the fabric over, and roll some more. Follow with more twists and rolls until the strip of fabric is used up. Either sew or glue to keep it together, and attach some green fabric or ribbon for leaves.
