Irish Fashion Scarves

Here is an embellished version of my 

upcycled fashion scarves.

And a bracelet...

made from t-shirts.

I added some clover embellishments.

The clovers were fun to make!

This one has a longer ruffled scarf.

PBJ Smoothie Recipe

Get out the blender again!

Here is another yummy smoothie recipe.

It tastes like a peanut butter and jelly treat!

Ingredients:

1 Cup Grape Juice

(adjust amount to desired consistency)

1 Tablespoon Peanut Butter

1 Cup Yogurt 

(your favorite fruit flavored yogurt, I used Cherry Pomegranate)

1 Banana

Handful of Ice Cubes

Mix in your blender, fill your glass, and enjoy!

Spinach Smoothie Recipe

I love my spinach smoothies!!!!

With such an enjoyable taste, 

you'd hardly know it's good for you!

Ingredients:

1 Cup Greek Yogurt  

I use a small container of toasted coconut vanilla Greek yogurt

1 Cup Almond Milk  

Can use unsweetened, but I use vanilla almond milk. 

Adjust amount to desired consistency 

1 Banana 

Slice and freeze it the night before

1 Tablespoon Peanut Butter  

A big heaping spoonful works for me

3 to 4 cups Baby Spinach 

Or just fill up the blender with it, to make it easy

Blend it up, fill your glass, and enjoy!

This is so tasty, you may just want to make it every morning!

Fabric Package Topper

Ever wonder what to do with that old prom dress you will never wear again?

...unless your motto is: IT'S THE THOUGHT THAT COUNTS. 

Great Alternative to A Gift Bow

I own a resale shop, and sometimes people part with their out of style fashions.

If the material is nice, but there are flaws on the garment itself, 

I get to cut it up and make it into something more awesome!

Yes, I love my job!

Here is a simple way to make a rose as pictured above:

1.  I cut the ruffled edge from a worn out, old-fashioned, lacy dress.

You can pretty much use any length or width.

I prefer to cut about an inch in width, 

and tend to fold the width in half if it is any wider than an inch.

I find that I usually cut the length at least twelve inches long.

That is just my preference.  There is no exact science to creativity.

2.  I rolled the strip of fabric to form a rose, occasionally twisting as I rolled.

Roll from one end of the fabric to the other.

Roll a bit, twist the fabric over, roll some more.  Repeat.

3.  Once I got to the end of the strip of fabric, 

I held it together, and grabbed my needle and thread.

It helps to have your threaded needle handy.

Make sure the thread already has a knot at the end before you form your rose.

4.  Next, I put several stitches (by hand) across the bottom of the rose to hold it in place.

You could even use a glue gun if you are more into that!

5.  I cut a circle from green fabric, then trimmed it into a leafy-edged shape.

This is what I attached under my flower.

Sew it on by hand, or use your glue gun.

6.  I used a foam circle that is sticky on both sides to attach this flower to my package.

Scrapbookers and card-creators will have plenty of adhesive options to do the job.

You could even use a glue gun to attach the rose to some ribbon around your package, 

or just sew it on.

More Ideas:

Instead of tying actual ribbon around the package, use a long strip of coordinating fabric.

Hey, you could even wrap the present itself in creative wrapping materials.

Try newspaper, fabric, magazine pages, whatever you can reuse to serve the purpose!
